Community PreKindergarten White Rock is a registered non-profit society committed to providing quality child care to our community. We utilize the world class program and curriculum of Academics Prekindergarten and Academics EDGE. Our team is provided training and supported by the Academics EDGEU Program. Profits from Community PreKindergarten will be used to support basic human needs within the community as well as expanding availability of early childhood education in B.C.

Community PreKindergarten White Rock is conveniently located in White Rock at the Foster Martin towers near North Bluff Rd and Johnston Rd. Our beautiful playground is located between the two condominium towers.

About our PreKindergarten programs



Academics offers an innovative curriculum-based program, Academics EDGE, for children between the age of 10 months & 5 years old. Academics EDGE is structured learning through investigation, experience and purposeful play. We focus on promoting the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of each child. At Academics Prekindergarten, we are changing the way Daycare is delivered in Surrey. We give children the head start they deserve to help them grow, explore, and get ready for school and the years ahead.
At our Surrey Preschool, child care is more than just supervision. Our uniquely designed programs focus on the whole child’s development.

Our program is consistent, built upon scientific research and modelled around internationally acclaimed and accepted teaching tools. At Academics PreKindergarten South Surrey, we help your child get the best possible start with our Academics EDGE program. This structured learning program aims to develop your child’s cognitive, social, and emotional abilities along with their physical skills.


Physical Education & Well-Being

Our chef creates weekly menus based on the National Food Guide for children. We are mindful of the various nutritional needs of our students and can cater to restrictive diets. Please discuss your child’s needs with your school.

Academics Prekindergarten provides growth opportunities for the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development of your child. Our curriculum, training, program and facilities, provide the most enriched learning environment for your child by incorporating innovative and proven early childhood education methodologies.

  • Awesome daycare for your littles. We had 2 kids who attended Academics PreK in South Surrey on Croydon, but when the Community PreK opened in White Rock, we sent our youngest there.

    The staff is simply amazing, they're professional and they care.  Ms R has been with the company for over 10 years, and she is just amazing with the kids. She taught my 2 older ones at the South Surrey location, and we just had to have her with our youngest, so thats how we got introduced to the Community PreK in White Rock.


    Kids actually learn, they're engaged, and most importantly, they're loved and well looked after here.  As a parent, there's nothing that scares you more than leaving your child with someone you don't know.  The staff at Community PreK has always gone above and beyond, and we are so happy to have had our son graduate from there.

  • We’ve had a wonderful experience at Community PreKindergarten – White Rock. My son started attending when he was ten and half months old, and he has been truly happy there. He eats well, sleeps well, and plays happily every day.

    There are lots of activities for the children, such as arts and outdoor activities, which keep them engaged and excited. The classroom is very spacious, giving babies plenty of room to crawl around and explore, and he has so much fun. He’s also learning how to eat independently there, which we really appreciate.


    The environment feels safe, caring, and well-organized, and the teachers and staff do a great job taking care of the children. Highly recommend!

Hi, I’m Erica Sen, the Childcare Director here at Community PreKindergarten White Rock. I’ve been working in early childhood education since 2010, and my passion for teaching began when I was 18, caring for my nephew. I’m a mom of two amazing daughters, and outside of work you can usually find me listening to music, dancing, baking, reading, or making “get ready with me” videos with my girls. I also love trips to the beach and spending time with my family and friends.

My name is Jasmine Qi and I have over 10 years of work experience while living in mainland China focused on the Human Resources field. I like to enjoy my family during free time, as chatting and having fun with them are the most enjoyable things to me. I’m very happy working at Academics with so many lovely people and the kids are so adorable! I am always impressed by kids’ words as they are able to offer refreshing perspectives that perhaps weren’t the first thoughts that came to my mind ;).

    While our “Academics EDGE” program shares the Montessori emphasis on fostering independence and holistic growth, it differs in its structured, teacher-guided approach that specifically targets readiness for formal schooling.  We offer a distinct approach to early childhood education through our “Academics EDGE” program, which sets it apart from the Montessori method while still incorporating some similar principles:


    • Structured Learning Environment: The Academics EDGE program is designed to provide a balanced and structured environment that helps children develop critical academic and social skills. Unlike the Montessori approach, which is more child-led, Academics EDGE offers a curriculum that is guided by educators to ensure that each child meets key developmental milestones.

    • Comprehensive Skill Development: The program emphasizes a well-rounded preparation for school, focusing on early literacy, numeracy, and social skills, ensuring children are ready for the challenges of kindergarten and beyond.   • School uniforms

    We are pleased to partner with Cambridge Uniforms. Cambridge Uniforms offers online shopping and direct shipping to homes. A sizing kit is available at school.


    The Academics PreKindergarten South Surrey Online Access Code for the Cambridge Uniform Website is: ICS123


    One complete Cambridge uniform package is mandatory for your child. This package will include:


    • One shirt
    • One rain jacket
    • One sweatshirt

    All other items will be optional.

  • Security deposit

    Security deposit is required for enrollment each school year and is the cost of one month tuition per child. Our school year runs from July 1st to June 30th. The security deposit will be applied as tuition payment for the last month (June) of enrollment of the school year enrolled.

  • School Hours

    Monday to Friday from 6:00 am - 5:30 pm. We're closed on Weekends
