If you are looking for a supportive environment Academics Westwood is the place for you. As a new parent I had many questions, concerns and worries about sending my daughter to daycare. From my first tour the Director made me feel comfortable and fully supported during this journey.
She was knowledgeable and understanding which was everything I needed.
The teachers love what they do and it shows every day at drop off and pick up. I could not have picked a better place for my daughter. Visiting the school was important to us however we respect their Covid policies. Below are pictures of their virtual tour. They are so informative. As a new parent they really set you up for high expectations and have shown us they deliver.

My son goes to Academics preK Westwood. My wife was looking around different places and find here is the best place for our son. It is clean everywhere and everything is well maintained.
Nice and big outside playground. Includes lunch for the kids and security cameras for parents to see their child during the day. My loves to go because there are also new things to learn and activities to do every day. Loves the arts and crafts the stuff prepares for them. Most importantly, everyone stuff that I met there knows what they are doing and proud of what they do.

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to enroll our son in this daycare. From day one, the teachers have been absolutely incredible—so caring, patient, and dedicated.
We couldn’t be happier with our decision to enroll our son in this daycare. From day one, the teachers have been absolutely incredible—so caring, patient, and dedicated. The management is excellent and always responsive, which makes us feel confident and supported every step of the way.
Our son is learning so many important things every day that are helping him develop essential skills as a child. The classrooms are impressive, and the curriculum is thoughtfully designed. We’re constantly amazed by how much he’s growing, both academically and emotionally.
One of the standout aspects is the in-house chef who prepares fresh, nutritious meals daily—such a thoughtful and valuable addition!
Most importantly, our son receives so much love and care here. It genuinely feels like a second home for him. We are 100% sure this was the best decision for our family. Thank you to everyone at the daycare for your outstanding service and for creating such a nurturing environment!

School Director
As an Early Childhood Educator for over 15 years, I have always enjoyed working with children, watching them learn and reach developmental milestones. I’ve been called a “natural nurturer” because I love providing children with the care and affection they need. Now, after having two children of my own, my determination to provide quality learning and care for our young future generations is even stronger.
Coaching team members and building new relationships with families are just a few of the things I really enjoy about my role. I am also a nature and fitness lover. I look forward to growing more with our children as they teach us new things each day!

School Administrator
I began my journey in Early Childhood Education in 2015, starting as an educator and gaining valuable experience that shaped who I am today. My own preschool memories left a lasting impression on me, and I’ve always remembered how important it is to feel safe, happy, and supported at a young age. That’s what inspired me to pursue this path.
Now, as an Administrator at Academics Westwood, my goal is to bring happiness to both children and their families. I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where every child can thrive and every family feels connected and valued. I truly believe that a positive childcare experience can leave a lasting impact and create beautiful memories that stay with us for life.

Frequently asked questions
What does a child need to know before entering preschool at Academics PreKindergarten?
Before entering preschool here at Academics PreK, a child should be equipped with a few fundamental skills and knowledge that will help them transition smoothly into a structured learning environment. Here are some key areas to focus on:
- Basic Social Skills: Children should have some experience interacting with peers and adults outside of their immediate family. This includes sharing, taking turns, and understanding basic manners like saying “please” and “thank you.”
- Self-Help Skills: Preschoolers benefit from knowing how to perform simple tasks independently. This includes washing hands, using the toilet, and putting on their shoes and coat. Encouraging independence in these areas boosts a child’s confidence and helps them adjust to a classroom setting.
- Communication Skills: A child entering preschool should be able to express their needs and thoughts using simple sentences. Understanding basic instructions and being able to communicate with teachers and classmates is crucial for a positive preschool experience.
- Basic Cognitive Skills: Familiarity with shapes, colors, numbers, and the alphabet gives children a head start in preschool learning. Recognizing their own name, understanding simple patterns, and having basic counting skills are also beneficial.
- Emotional Readiness: Preschool can be a big step emotionally. Children should be prepared to spend time away from their parents and should be developing the ability to manage their emotions in a group setting.
By focusing on these areas, parents can help ensure that their child is ready to thrive at AcademicsPreK, setting the foundation for future academic and social success.

Is Academics PreK the same or similar to Montessori?
While our “Academics EDGE” program shares the Montessori emphasis on fostering independence and holistic growth, it differs in its structured, teacher-guided approach that specifically targets readiness for formal schooling. We offer a distinct approach to early childhood education through our “Academics EDGE” program, which sets it apart from the Montessori method while still incorporating some similar principles:
- Structured Learning Environment: The Academics EDGE program is designed to provide a balanced and structured environment that helps children develop critical academic and social skills. Unlike the Montessori approach, which is more child-led, Academics EDGE offers a curriculum that is guided by educators to ensure that each child meets key developmental milestones.
- Comprehensive Skill Development: The program emphasizes a well-rounded preparation for school, focusing on early literacy, numeracy, and social skills, ensuring children are ready for the challenges of kindergarten and beyond. This contrasts with Montessori’s broader focus on self-directed exploration.
- Personalized Attention: While Montessori education allows children to progress at their own pace, Academics EDGE also emphasizes personalized learning. Teachers assess each child’s progress and provide targeted support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Holistic Growth: Similar to Montessori, our Academics EDGE program values the development of the whole child. However, it does so within a more structured framework, ensuring that each child gains the necessary skills and confidence to excel in a traditional school setting.
